Our hypothesis is that a small, thoughtful clothing company and its customers can change how the world thinks about Africa.
We make great clothes, and we need your help to tell their stories.
Since last January, when we first launched the AfriCAN idea to EWB, we have been working hard at figuring out the best way to get AfriCAN off the ground.
We have been testing production overseas, working with various entrepreneurs. Two of our tailors have already used their earnings to upgrade their equipment and their business location. We also have hired on a local operations manager to help with quality control.
In Canada, we have been learning about the fashion industry to understand the best way for us to develop a new market for African products. AfriCAN has chosen to focus on two test projects for the fall.
1. The Proof Project, a fashion business that is using trendy fashion channels to target customers who are currently the "non-choir" or non believers in our message of African Opportunity.
2. The Wave Project which provides tools to amplify the work of leaders who are already spreading the message of African Opportunity within the Canadian System.
The Wave project is starting to pilot within EWB and we need your help!
